
While carrying out commercial activities for the production of food products, in addition to the issue of quality and safety of its products, TEPPA pays special attention to the labeling of consumer packaging, namely, the compliance of the information indicated on the packaging with the legal requirements.
Thus, while choosing one or the other product, the end consumer pays foremost attention to the packaging and the information indicated on it. After studying the indicated information about the qualitative characteristics of the product, the consumer makes a conscious choice.
But some manufacturers, including competitors of TEPPA, are engaged in unfair competition, noting false information on consumer packaging and gaining consumer attention not due to their own achievements in the production of high-quality and safe products, but by misleading the consumer about the quality characteristics of the product.
Unfair competition for the preferences of the end consumer is conducted not only by providing misleading information regarding the characteristics of the food product, but also by using/imitating the packaging design of more established manufacturers in order to confuse/mislead the consumer regarding the actual manufacturer of the product. Thus, the TEPPA company found one retail chain in Kyiv, that “shamelessly” drew the end consumers’ attention, using the packaging design of TEPPA LLC under its own brand.
Thus, being aware of the products quality under the TEPPA brand, the end consumer was sure that he chose products under the TEPPA LLC while choosing the appropriate packaging, but in fact he bought the lower quality products of another manufacturer. Currently, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine is considering the proceedings opened at the request of TEPPA LLC to stop the violation and bring the unfair competitor to justice.
Despite the unfair business practices among manufacturers and competitors, TEPPA adheres to its principles of producing high-quality and safe products, and providing to the end consumer with real/true information about the characteristics of food products that consist only of ingredients of natural origin.
